Hello friends and family!! Well to report on the famous New York 4th of July it was really lame actually haha. Our appointment cancelled so we just made some calls and have a lesson over our videophone so we didn't see a single firework, were so lame I know!
Tuesday was such an awesome day, we had to interpret for our investigator for a job interview but they ended up rescheduling so she took us out for some authentic Korean food in Korea town and it was delicious!! Then we had an awesome member present lesson to talk to one of our members about going to the temple which I think really helped her so much, but we shall see what happens! But the real miracle of this entire week happened with one of our investigators who has been meeting with the missionaries for over a year and never seems to be ready for baptism, she's always making excuses for why she can't. But we started talking about the Book of Mormon and how she once told sister Nash she knew it was true. We helped her recognize how much her life and her families life has changed with the gospel in it. Her goal is to be sealed to her family in the temple so we were able to tell her exactly what things she needed to do in order to achieve that goal and it all came boiling back down to the word of wisdom. But by the end of the lesson and lots of testifying she committed to living the work of wisdom. It was seriously the most powerful lesson on my entire mission. She was crying and we were crying, and we all know I don't cry! The spirit was so strong and I know that lesson was completely guided by the spirit. We made a breakthrough with her and I'm so grateful to witness it. When sister Nash and I walked out of the lesson we just squealed with excitement and just bear hugged each other.
Service was killer this week because it was so hot and humid and they made us do some serious heavy labor. We were ripping out garden beds and each day we were covered in bugs and dirt. Which isn't very helpful when you have district meeting right after service so you have to have a makeshift bath in the church sink haha.
Zone training meeting was this week and it was really good, it was interesting to hear what topics they chose to discuss about. Most of them were about obedience and sustaining our mission president. It was really great and I'm so grateful for president and sister Reynolds, they seriously do so much for all their missionaries. They are my biggest examples. We also went out teaching with our branch missionary leader, but it was more like he took US out working. He was so pumped he was basically running all over the town of Flushing.
We had a branch party this Saturday and we had six investigators come! Well one became a new investigator at the party. She told us she wants to have a deeper connection with God and wants to change her life, this party was seriously such a miracle. We also had a less active member come up to us randomly and give us a referral for his friend. Like what? And the party didn't go down in flames like past parties so I'm happy I haven't experienced a disaster party yet.
This week was seriously amazing and we've been able to see some more progression with the people we are teaching this week which is such a miracle. I'm so happy and I'm just so lucky to be here with sister Nash. Heavenly Father is being way to good to us and I just have to keep thanking Him everyday. Well everyone I love and miss you all so much :) hope everything is going well and that you're staying safe. Until next week!
